Here's something fun I did over the fourth of July weekend. Stone Mountain State Park, in Roaring Gap, NC, is prithyr prithibi tubing a fun attraction a few miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway at MP 229. The Rockfish River is formed in Nelson County, Virginia, by the confluence of its North and South Forks (37°54′13″N 78°49′58″W), both of which rise in the Blue Ridge Mountains near the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Tubers can put in near Kushla and float down as far as Chickasabogue Park. We do have the best rivers in Scotland for River tubing and White Water Adventure Tubing. The whole "river float" experience is also a lot more fun if you have someone to talk to. Rafts will float somewhat slower than canoes, so if you are planning an overnight raft trip, talk to us about floating times, rates, etc.

Although the river only averages 50 feet in width, it tends to run deep and swift, which makes for a fun float. Because NOC is the national park's only on-site outfitter all trips begin and end at NOC's outposts inside the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

What is noteworthy about this scenic area in the heart of Western Maine is its convenient location to the popular Sunday River Ski Resort, as well as snowmobiling, hunting, tubing, snowboarding, fishing, hiking, antiquing, kayaking, canoeing, golfing, historical research, and not to forget the brilliance of the fall foliage.

The city also is about 80 miles from the resort of Whistler, and about 30 minutes drive from the Mountain Cypress so there is certainly no lack of fun in the snow. Summer is the most popular time, and will provide you with limitless fun-n-sun outdoor opportunities.

Rail & Raft or Rail & Tube: Begin with the classic train ride to McCaysville where you will be dropped off at rolling Thunder Rafting, there you can choose either a lazy tubing ride down the Toccoa River or a wild white water rafting adventure down the Ocoee river.

Polite dogs on leashes allowed in the Campground but NOT in cabins, public buildings, swimming pool, water-slide, mini-golf, tanks, tubes or the river. Lolich said it takes about five days for water from Red Lake to reach Red Lake Falls, and Voyageur's View is ready to swing into operation.
